APPALACHIAN MTN LM SPEEDWEEK TO BE ANNUAL CELEBRATION; LATE MODEL FALL CLASH SERIES ADDED FOR 2025
Jim Bernheisel of Clash Motorsports has released news that the Appalachian Mountain Late Model Speedweek will officially be returning annually.
But this season, in addition to Speedweek, Clash Motorsports will be initiating the Fall Clash, a new multi-weekend Fall series of late model championship events running from August 29 through November 1. The series will include a $30,000 point fund with $10,000 going to the champion.
“We held off on announcing the series as a couple of the tracks making early commitments were in the midst of finalizing their promotional teams and/or contracts for 2025, explained Bernheisel.“ This now gives us the opportunity to announce eight dates for seven events as we go continue with negotiations with six or seven tracks as well as entertaining inquiries from others in the near future.
“Based on the success we and our associated tracks have experienced with the Selinsgrove Ford Appalachian Mountain Speedweek, we were taking with Joe Padula of Bedford Speedway about how the past tradition of multiple tracks running special events after their regular seasons ended in August had diminished. We looked at Joe’s Labor Day 55 on August 29 and his Keystone Cup on October 24 and 25 and the Fall Clash took shape.”
Dates that are already confirmed are Bedford’s Labor Day 55 on Friday, August 29 paying $12,000 to win and Selinsgrove (PA) Speedway’s Paul Long Memorial paying $6300 to win on August 31. Promoter Doug Rose steals the following week’s marquee with his Bridgeport (NJ) Motorsports Park hosting a $10,000-to-win program on Saturday, September 6th, and then backs it up on Sunday, September 7th, at his Action Track USA in Kutztown, PA with a $6,000-to-win card on the ultimate short track. Potomac Speedway in Budds Creek, MD, joins the Clash on September 27 with their Darryl Hills Memorial, tentatively set to pay $10,000 to win, followed by the afore-mentioned Keystone Cup at Bedford on October 24 and 25 paying $25,000 to win. The series will close on Saturday, November 1, with the Mid-Atlantic Championships at Georgetown (DE) Speedway tentatively paying $10,000 to win.
The Fall Clash will complement the Selinsgrove Ford Appalachian Mountain Late Model Speedweek which returns with a schedule very much like the first two years under Clash Motorsports leadership. Clinton County Speedway in Mill Hall, PA opens the AMS series once again on Friday night, June 6. with Port Royal (PA) Speedway following on Saturday and Hagerstown (MD) Speedway on Sunday to complete the first weekend. Currently Monday the 9th and Wednesday the 11th are tentatively set as open dates which Path Valley Speedway in Spring Run, PA splits with their program on Tuesday night, June 10th as usual. The closing weekend starts at Selinsgrove (PA) Speedway on Thursday, June 12 followed by Bedford (PA) Speedway on Friday, Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, PA on Saturday and the newcomer to AMS, Bridgeport (NJ) Motorsports Park on Sunday.

With the successful 2023 relaunch of Appalachian Mountain Super Late Model Speedweek series director, Jim Bernheisel was able to relax and reflect. “I am so grateful for the incredible support,” stated Bernheisel. “We had 97 different drivers sign in for at least one event as well as 16 drivers that were at every track.”
Excellent racing was on display with an average of 40 plus cars at each race. Fans as well showed their appreciation with good crowds at each event.
Plans are already underway with many improvements being anticipated for 2024. The tentative schedule will span Friday, June 7 through Sunday, June 16.
